05 March 2022 – True to his words, former Commission On Audit (COA) Chairperson Michael G. Aguinaldo worked on the regularization of job order employees of the Commission before ending his stint as chairperson for seven years of extraordinary leadership and exceptional public service. Chairman Aguinaldo, whose term of office officially ended on February 02, 2022, has approved the regularization of 199 qualified Job Order (JO) workers, both in the Central Office and in the Regional Offices, to permanent employment in the Commission.
Since the start of his leadership, Chairman Aguinaldo emphasized the importance of recognizing the loyalty and service that the qualified JO workers are giving the Commission. “These are qualified JO workers who have contributed, in their own ways, to the successful implementation of our programs and projects. I had promised them when I began my term of office that the Commission would work for their regularization. Thanks to the efforts of the people in the Commission, we are able to give these JO workers the peace of mind of security of tenure and the entitlement to the same benefits as regular employees,” said Chairperson Aguinaldo.
Fifty-one out of the 199 JO workers have served the Commission for more than 10 years, 57 have been with COA for more than five years while 91 have worked in COA for less than five years.
Among the 199 regularized employees, four personnel are from COA Regional Office III who have been with the office for years. They are: Irma D. Guevarra, assigned at the Office of the Regional Director (ORD); Lyndon A Delos Santos, under the Administrative, Training and Finance Services (ATFS); Annabelle S. Parallag who is reporting at COA PSAO Zambales and Jingoy T. Zapatero who is detailed at COA PSAO Nueva Ecija.
Aside from the security of tenure, the said personnel will receive benefits, a year-end bonus, a performance based bonus, and other allowances.
Regional Director Omar S. Roque facilitated the oath-taking of the newly regularized employees and said that they deserve to be given plantilla item because of their valuable contribution to COA RO3 and wish them to become more productive civil servants especially now that the country is being challenged by war and global health crisis.
